DS-160 Correction After Booking Appointment – What to Do (India Guide)

 If you have already booked your U.S. visa appointment and later realize there is a mistake in your DS-160 form, there is no need to panic. This is a common situation faced by many applicants in India.

It is important to understand that once a DS-160 form is submitted, it cannot be edited. However, there is a proper process to correct your information.

Step 1: Fill a New DS-160 Form

You cannot edit a submitted DS-160 form. Instead, you must:

·        Fill a completely new DS-160 form

·        Correct all errors or missing information

·        Review all details carefully before submission

·        Save and print the new DS-160 confirmation page

Make sure the new form contains accurate and updated information.

Step 2: If You Cannot Update DS-160 Online

In some cases, applicants are unable to update the DS-160 number in their appointment profile after booking.

If this happens, do not worry.

👉 You should carry both confirmation pages:

·        Old DS-160 confirmation page
